New Etsy Review System

Earlier this week Etsy announced that the Feedback system would be retiring with the roll-out of the new Etsy Review System, claiming that it will be creating a more authentic experience. 

Previously, feedback was given in a pretty straightforward manner - either positive, negative or neutral and leaving comments as a part of feedback was optional. With the new review system, buyers give a rating using the star system (like eBay) and tell why they gave that rating with text reviews (must be minimum of five words). So, we're saying goodbye to the percentage score and saying hello to a possible 5-gold stars.

Another big change is that the rating and review can be edited. So, for example, if there was a problem and the buyer and seller resolved it together, a poor review could then be edited. Editing is available for up to 60 days.

Also, sellers no longer give the buyers feedback. Only buyers rate the sellers.

So what are your thoughts on this new review system? Will you miss the old feedback style? Do you think this is a step in the right direction?
