Handmade artwork, wallets and stationery

*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Isabel Monell I'm a 26 year old from Virginia Beach and I love creating unique pieces of art. I know that my talent was a gift given to me so I could create wonderful art to share with others is the fulfillment of my dream. I'm an artistand hold a Bachelor Degree in Studio Art from Old Dominion University. I love painting. I have several years of experience with painting pottery, as well as working with acrylic, oil, and watercolor creations. Because I love creating I'm always exploring different mediums and seeing where it leads me...

*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?
I was given the nickname Monellisa from one of my friends a while ago. So when I started my artwork seriously I thought it would be a catchy name for my shop.

*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
I love fabric, its my guilty pleasure. Im like a kid in a candy store when I enter a fabric store, and its so much FUN!!! Be on the lookout for new fabric creations.

*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy?
Well I work with kids full time and its such a joy. Other than that I love living life with my friends and family.

*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
My favorite piece is Rain, Rain Go Away, this was the first piece that I created that really inspired me to open up my etsy shop. So with that it will most likely be my favorite piece forever :)

*What keeps you motivated?
Seeing other artist motivates me to keep creating. Each artist is different and I love seeing their perspective on art and creation which encourages and motivates me to keep going.

*If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?
Don’t give up, if you believe in what your are creating/doing stick with it. Also use the people in your life as a gauge of what they like and don’t like, and ask them to be your promoters if possible.

*Are there other places on the net we can find you?
