I live in a teeny town (if you can even call it that) in Southeastern MN. I originally named my shop SarahsFabricCreations, but didn't want it to be exclusively fabric items ( I also crochet for fun ).......So hence the name "SarahsFabCreations".
I started making things just for fun. One day I posted a few pics to Facebook, and ended up selling most of the items I posted:) One of my friends suggested I try Etsy. It's been great meeting all sorts of different people on here! It's been great having my own little stash of cash to purchase more 'hobby' related items! Also fun to be able to shop from other Etsy shops!
Five things I want people to think when they see my product/shop is:
- Uniqueness
- Quality Product
- One-of-a-kind
- Good customer service
- Reasonable prices
My supply addiction is fabric and yarn!!! I love the look and feel of new fabric and different textures of yarn! I love combining 2 different colors/patterns to see what the result will be:) Sometimes I have a certain fabric or yarn that I have no idea what I will use it for until much later when I come across that perfect pattern!
When I'm not being crafty, I love to be with my family. We love to do outdoor activities together, and travel together! We also
What item did I enjoy making the most? This is a hard one. I love everything I make, but if I have to choose, it would have to be this red bag! www.etsy.com/listing/81833881/red-corduroy-christmas-candy-bag-free
I love big bags with pockets! The one I use (being a Mom) also doubles as a garbage can;) So, naturally, I try to keep most of my items washer friendly....gotta love that;) I actually have another version of this bag in brown corduroy/floral print laying on my sewing room floor......can't wait to share it when its done!
What keeps me motivated? Probably seeing customers happy with their product they buy! I also do custom orders, and it's a blast to have someone design their own item and then be happy with the end product!!!
Advice to a new shop? Well, being fairly new myself, I have found that getting involved in teams is a great way to expose you and your shop. Don't be afraid to ask for help or an opinion.
