Allison's Creations

*Where are you from?
Louisville, KY

*Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Allison Harrison born in Frankfurt Germany, but live and raised in Louisville KY, home of the Kentucky Derby, fabulous Derby Pie and Great Kentucky Bourbon Whisky.

I work full-time as an Analyst for Humana Inc. a wonderful program for prenant mom’s called HumanaBeginnings our healthy pregnancy-health baby program for Humana Inc. for 11 years. I am a wife of 26 years to a wonderful man. We have one son and two beautiful grand-babies. My husband and I love to travel to the most exotic places. I am an Independent Travel Consultant because I love to travel. I am a people person with a huge heart and a fabulous personality.

*How did you decide on your shop name?
I came up with the name Allison’s Creations because I love to do and make things that are unique and very creative.

Why did you start your business?
I lost my mother to Leukemia 2-1/2 years ago and I wanted to do something to help raise money for the Leukemia Society. So I decided to start a fund-raiser for Humana Inc., and by doing so, decided to make awareness jewelry to help raise money. The first year was a success, so I decided to continue to make handmade jewelry for women that love to be chic and stylish. I also find it to be relaxing, mind soothing and fun!

*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?
  • Elegant
  • Stylish
  • Fun
  • Creative
  • Sense of style

*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?
I love to create things from memory wire, especially hoop earrings. Memory wire is such an amazing stringing medium. Memory wire “remembers” it’s original form and can be used to make so many amazing creations. I love crystals and anything that has shine and shimmer.

*What do you do when you’re not being an artist?
I like to relax, watch a good movie, read a good book and search the web.

* What activities do you enjoy?
I like a good workout, a nice walk, looking and going through InStyle Magazine, shopping my favorite of all times. What girl doesn’t like to shop!

*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
The seahorse glass pendant necklace set. I am in love with this piece! It’s such a beauty and one of a kind. It has a nice shine and the seahorse is very detailed and I love detail.

*What keeps you motivated?
Life, my husband, my son, but mostly the good Lord above.

*If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?
Stay motivated, work hard, have fun with your designs and be nice and friendly and good to people and your sales will come.

*Are there other places on the net we can find you?

First let me say "Thanks" to all of my PCF Team family for all of the warm and loving comments. So appreciative and honored. Thanks for allowing me to share my story. It's been a tough 2 years without my mother with me, but when I design jewelry, I think of her and it warms my heart to know when I sale a piece, I'm giving to a charity that is so worthy of it. The medicine is so so expensive and it feels good to know that in some special way, I am able to help those that are living with Leukemia to live somewhat comfortable with the disease.
God bless each of you!

Love Allison
